The Hotel Salem

The location was perfect! Liked the idea of sparkling water station on the floor and the view of Essex St was awesome. Zay is an exceptional staff member. Had a glitch with another staff member Julie ..as soon as we checked in, according to her she was very overwhelmed with guests and (I understand her fustration being the time of the year but really it wasn't that busy at that time at all) didn't honor an email that was sent by the hotel prior stating they would do something special for my Birthday. She sort of dismissed my husband saying she needed to speak with her manager. Well I guess that never happened. Then there was Zay we explained our situation and she stepped right in and took care of the things right away. We can't Thank her enough for being so hospitable, cheery and pleasant. What started off as a frustrating time Zay turned our soured feelings right around. She is an excellent employee and we will return because of her. I have to also give kudos to Meghan and Zach. Meghan was so wonderful recommending places to eat and just a joy to talk to. Zach was also very helpful and pleasant! After everything was taken care of we had a wonderful time and enjoyed the Hotel especially the Rooftop lounge. Very unique! I would of given our stay a 10 rating but the incident when we first arrived sort of pulled it right down.

We just finished a four night stay at the Hotel Salem. We had planned on staying there only two days, but enjoyed the facility and accommodations so much that we changed our original plan to stay in Boston to stay the remainder of our time in Salem. The first very positive point that I would mention is the hotel staff. They are remarkably friendly and helpful and made our stay notable. Management is clearly focused on hiring and training with the goal of friendly service. The hotel and rooms are nicely designed well set up and very very clean. For the first two nights we had the micro king room, which is small but comfortable and very effectively laid out. For the second two nights they upgraded our room to the large king size room, which was very nice and very spacious. The bathrooms are well laid out. The beds are very comfortable. The hotel coffee/tea bar was a nice touch which we took advantage of each morning. The hotel is well located right on the Essex Street pedestrian Boulevard and a short walk to the train station. We found Salem a very comfortable and convenient base for visiting downtown Boston also with the train providing dependable and quick access (five minute walk, 25 minute train ride ) to downtown.

A few things I loved about The Hotel Salem. Location; this hotel is steps away from museums, restaurants, and stores. The rooms!!; splurge into a suite… you won’t regret it! Cleanliness of facilities. They provide coffee and tea every morning. There was a glass water bottle in your room and machines along the hotel corridor that provide still or seltzer water. Though you only have to walk a few meters to any restaurant, there is a restaurant on site that provides great food if you want a night in. But most of all we loved the incredible people who work at the front desk (Zachary, and staff), made our stay an unforgettable one! Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here when we go back to Salem.

Property was perfect downtown location. Right in the heart of everything, but no parking and very difficult to drag luggage along the cobblestone. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. Beds were comfortable. The pillows were amazing! We wanted to take them home LOL. Loved the water dispensers on every floor!

Absolute perfect location. Bed very comfortable. Air worked great. The staff was amazing. The nicest people I have ever met. Always asking what they could do to make it better. GREAT Experience!! Anything I needed, I got it immediately. I had no idea how to get to the hotel. I called and she talked me right to it.
